England Preserves are urban jam makers based in Bermondsey, London. They are literally preserving the great English art of preserving. Our designs ensure that the jams are packaged with the respect they deserve and at the same time, preserve another aspect of English culture and creativity and bring it to a wider audience.
‘Toil and toil but never boil’
Could our design ensure that England Preserves' sublime jams and chutneys were packaged with the respect they deserved and also preserve another aspect of English culture and creativity and bring it to a wider audience?
We linked their jam making with another English tradition of artist printmakers. We discovered a wealth of patterns created by famous British artists, including Paul Nash, Graham Sutherland and Enid Marx, all produced at the Curwen Studio. The brand icon is a life preserver, further reinforcing the message, as a simple metaphor for preserving fruit.
