Morito

Brand Identity, Book Design, Website

Tapas and mezze bar Morito is the younger sibling of Moro, the restaurant. We created a simple identity expressive of the energetic vibrancy of the food, drinks and atmosphere. The Morito cookbook is designed to convey the dynamic, ever-changing, seasonal menu and reflect the energy of urban life around Exmouth Market.

Morito

The logo is a double 'M' referring to both Morito and older sibling, Moro, the restaurant next door. Almost all of the photographs used in the Morito cookbook were shot by the staff on iPhones to capture the immediacy of the place. Many of the dramatis personae are locals or staff from Morito, featured along with street art from the surrounding streets. The motif used on the book cover, on wine labels and other packaging is based on the dynamic artwork created by artist Dillwyn Smith printed on tiles that face the front of the bar in Morito.
