What connects the Mausoleum at Castle Howard and St Paul’s Cathedral? Nicholas Hawksmoor – renowned British architect – who is the inspiration behind the new 16 year old single malt, Clerk of the Works. Taking three key architectural projects that Hawksmoor was involved in, we created the brand identity and packaging.

Clerk of the Works

We took three key architectural triumphs associated with Hawksmoor as our key way of understanding this brief: the Mausoleum in Castle Howard Gardens, St Paul’s Cathedral in London and Christ Church, Spitalfields. Our designs for the label evoke and replicate architectural blueprints of the buildings, using strong, bronze typography alongside blue sub-type detailing nose, palate, finish and cask type.

There are only 223 bottles of this rich whisky, full of sweet spice, biscuits and lingering finish, available from Hawskmoor or Foxlow restaurants.
